Prevention and Treatment Protocols for COVID-19
COVID-19 is a virus that causes respiratory illness. The symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, and fatigue.
There are some ways to reduce the risk of getting sick. These include washing hands frequently, avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth, covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing, and staying home when feeling ill. If you're not feeling well, stay at home until you feel better. Avoid contact with others who are sick. Seek medical care right away if you develop any of these symptoms:
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
- Fever
- Chills
- Sore throat
- Headache
- Muscle pain
- Fatigue
- Loss of taste or smell
- New confusion or trouble thinking clearly
- Severe stomach pain
- Diarrhea
- Nausea or vomiting
- Confusion or hallucinations
- Rapid heart rate
- Chest pains
- Difficulty breathing
Washing your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds can help stop the spread of germs paired with minimized touch of your eyes, nose or face in general.
